"Great Atmosphere, but the Kitchen Misses the Mark We visited recently and were immediately impressed by the decorations; the old-school diner vibe and interior design are top-notch. Unfortunately, the meal itself was a struggle. Mexican Loaded Potatoes: The kitchen scooped out the heart of the potato to make room for toppings, which completely defeats the purpose of ordering a loaded potato. It was also surprisingly spicy, which wasn't mentioned on the menu. My girlfriend doesn't like heat, so she couldn't enjoy her meal. Chicken Tacos: While the aesthetic was beautiful, these were "salad tacos" rather than chicken tacos. They were flooded with lettuce, tomatoes, and heavy onions, with only about five small strips of chicken tucked inside. A taco should lead with the protein, not hide a sprinkle of chicken under a mountain of salad. I only ate one out of three and had to throw the rest away. Brownie & Ice Cream: I grew up eating this classic, and the key is the hot-and-cold balance. The brownie was cold, hard, and dry—not at all the moist, warm treat the waiter promised. Additionally, one small scoop of ice cream isn't enough for a giant, nut-heavy brownie. You need enough cold ice cream to pair with every bite of the brownie to make the dish work. Advice to the Owner: The restaurant looks amazing, but the food feels like it's trying too hard to "remix" the classics. Keep the tacos simple with the chicken at the bottom and toppings on top, and ensure the brownies are served hot and soft with a proper ratio of ice cream. Stick to the basics—they’re classics for a reason!"

"Had breakfast at Pop’s Diner in Westlands and it was such a lovely experience. The food was excellent. I had the steak and eggs benny which was absolutely scrumptious. The portion size was just right and very satisfying. Let’s just say the plate was cleared so fast it barely had time to cool down. The staff were warm and welcoming, and what really stood out was how attentive they were. They are quick to read between the lines and act accordingly. For example, where we were seated it was a bit cold and they overheard us mentioning it and immediately switched off one of the fans. Very thoughtful. The place itself is cozy with nice American diner vibes, and the food did not take long to arrive. Overall, a great breakfast spot in Westlands. I would definitely go back."

"Nice place. Food was a bit mid. Why were the chicken tacos full of salad and cold even though they were freshly prepped. Also the chef went around talking to customers but only the ones that look like him. That felt weird because why would you open a restaurant in an African country if you're gonna ignore them. Won't be going back"
