"This restaurant is a lovely blend of Nigerian and Ghanian cuisine. The portions are LARGE. The service is top tier. My partner and I had: Fried goat, Jollof rice, Plantains, Okra soup w/ goat, 2 pepper soups and 2 Passion fruit juices. Everything that was served was of supreme quality and delicious. The food came out very fast. Please keep up the good work."

"I had so much expectations visiting this spot in Nairobi. The outdoor is very spacious and there were enough seats for us all. The food tasted better with pepper. The staff were overwhelmed. The houseflies absolutely ate more than me from my bowl of soup. I will order for take out next time and be back with a review"

"Delicious Food & Amazing Vibes! Had the Goat Jollof and it was amazing flavorful and tender! Tried one of their house drinks (forgot the name) but it was really good too. Loved the chill ambience and great service. Definitely coming back!"

"Ambience and Staff very nice. The food was good and fresh but not very flavorful to taste. The drinks were really good and i recommend. I would come back again, maybe for dinner. Thank you."

"Mama Ashanti is a charming restaurant that offers a delightful escape into the heart of West African cuisine. The ambience is one of its best features, with a warm, inviting atmosphere and tasteful décor that reflects the rich cultural heritage of the region. Soft lighting and soothing Afrobeat music set the mood, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed evening with friends or family. When it comes to the food, however, it can be a bit of a hit or miss. On some occasions, dishes like the Jollof rice or Suya are flavorful and well-seasoned, giving you a real taste of West Africa’s bold and vibrant flavors. Other times, the food can be underwhelming, lacking the depth and excitement you’d expect from such a promising menu. The variety is decent, but consistency seems to be an issue. One major downside is the wait time. The service is slow, with dishes taking longer than expected to arrive. This detracts from the overall dining experience, especially if you’re in a hurry or simply hungry. Despite this, the food is generally good – not exceptional, but satisfying if you're craving West African cuisine. Overall, Mama Ashanti delivers a pleasant dining experience with its lovely ambience and average but enjoyable food. If you have the patience for slower service, it’s worth a visit, especially for those looking to explore authentic West African flavors."
